A tasty and prolific broad bean selected by Denis Hughes in Tapanui; Otago. 'Hughey' produces attractive scarlet flowers that add some welcome Winter colour to the garden. The succulent; nutty flavoured beans stay bright green when cooked. This is a tall growing variety that needs some form of support or staking. Harvest in 16 to 20 weeks.
